Summer is “Sleepover” season!  Celebrate  school’s out with a sleepover. Warm nights and extra daylight make for extra fun. We’ve scoured the web and come up with some fun games for you and your friends. Give these a try and let us know what you think. Also, checkout our pajama collection just for kids. Here are some of our favorite ideas:

  • Nail Polish Birthday Spin Game-Place several colors of nail polish in the middle of a circle of girls.  Have the first girl at the sleepover spin a bottle of nail polish.  Whoever the cap is pointing to when it stops must paint one of her fingernails that color.  Then that person spins the next color of nail polish…and so on.  Pretty soon everyone has really crazy hands and toes!
  • Foil Make Over Game-The object is to create the best outfit out of aluminum foil.  This can be played individually or if you have lots of girls seperate them into teams.  Give each person or team 1 or 2 rolls of aluminum foil.  You can add accessories like belts, sunglasses, jewelry, hats and more.  Have the girls create tops, pants, dresses, skirts, bikinis or shorts.
  • Blind Make Over Game-The first person puts on a blindfold and does the makeup of the second person.  Then when they are done the second person puts on the blindfold and does the makeup of the third person.  Draw numbers to determine the order.  Be sure to take pictures when you are done!
  • Sleepover Ball Game-Buy a large inflatable beach ball and in permanent marker write questions all over it.  Place everyone in a circle and throw the ball to someone.  The person who catches the ball must answer the question that their right thumb is touching.  After answering the question they then throw the ball to another person.  Here are some suggestions for questions:  What is the scariest movie you’ve seen?  What is your favorite color?  What are three words that describe you? Who is your favorite band/singer? What is the nicest thing anyone has ever said to you? What do you say when you talk in your sleep?  What is your biggest phobia?  If you were invisible what would you do?  If you were an animal what would you be?  Who is your secret crush? What was your last dream about?
  • CandyHunt– Ask everyone to bring a flashlight to the party.  Before everyone arrives at the party ask a parent or sibling to hide candy all over the yard.  When it gets dark have everyone take their flashlights outside and hunt for the candy.
  • Snuggle Bug-Designate one person at the party the “Snuggle Bug” by putting slips of paper into a bowl (all blank except for the one that has the SB on it).  Whoever picks the “SB” is the “Snuggle Bug”.  All the guests are in the same room (with the lights off throughout the house) at the beginning of the game.  Then the “Snuggle Bug” gets to go and find a hiding place.  People roam throughout the house and ask other players, “Are you the Snuggle Bug?”  If the answer is no, then they keep searching.  If the answer is yes, then the person has to join them in the hiding spot and snuggle up to the SB.  As more guests find the SB and snuggle up, the hiding space becomes overcrowded and the game ends when the last person finds the SB.  Maybe have a “booby” prize ready for the last person!
  • Kiss The Poster-get a nice poster of your favorite pop star, rock star or celebrity.  Have each girl put on lipstick and take turns putting on the blindfold and kissing the poster.  The person who kisses closest to the celebrity’s lips gets to take the poster home!
  • Tapper-With everyone in the room, one person is chosen to be the Tapper.  The Tapper goes into another room where he/she can’t hear the other players.  Meanwhile everyone hides in their sleeping bags or under pillows and blankets.  You can also make decoys by putting pillows/stuffed animals under a blanket to make it look like a person.  Then someone gets up, turns off the lights and goes back to their hiding spot.  After everyone is settled, you yell to the Tapper to come in.  The Tapper comes into the room, with the lights off, and taps on someone.  If you get tapped you have to say “Yes?” in a weird voice (or say something else, it’s up to you).  The Tapper has to figure out who was speaking.  If the Tapper is right, the person tapped has to be the Tapper next and everyone gets a new hiding spot.  If the Tapper is wrong, he/she has to tap another person.   Or one by one the Tapper can guess each person until only one is left.
  • Blair Witch Hide and Seek-A new type of hide and seek to play using a cell phone and a house phone.  Wait until it’s dark and turn out the lights.  One person hides with a cell phone.  In the pitch black, everyone goes looking for this one person.  Every so often he must call the house phone and give clues to where he is hiding.
  • Two Truths and A Lie-Sit in a circle.  Each person one by one must tell everyone two things that are true about himself/herself and one thing that isn’t.  Mix up the two truths and a lie however you please.  Everyone has to guess which is the lie.

    I got these ideas for games.
    Socks
    In a room where there isn’t any furniture in the middle of it (you might have to move furniture) everyone puts socks on with the socks half hanging off. Everyone crawls around the room and tries to take other peoples socks off. When both your socks are off, you are out. The last person with a sock left on is the winner.
    Chubby bunnies
    How many marshmallows (or other chocolate) can you fit in your mouth at one time?
    Boy meets girl
    Everyone sits in a circle and has a piece of paper and a pencil (probably best to sit at the table but if not, everyone has a magazine to lean on). You write down a boy’s name. Then you fold it over and pass it to your right. On your new piece of paper write down a girl’s name, fold it over and pass to your right. Then you write down something the boy said to the girl and fold it over and pass it on. Now you write down something the girl replied with, fold it over and pass it to your right. Now you unfold it all and read it out to the circle like this: BOY SAID TO GIRL: BLAH BLAH BLAH. GIRL REPLIED TO BOY WITH: BLAHDY BLAHDY BLAH!
    TAPPER
    IF YOU DO HAVE A SLEEPOVER THIS IS THE ONLY TIME YOU CAN PLAY THIS GAME. ONE PERSON GOES OUT OF THE ROOM. THIS PERSON IS CALLED THE TAPPER. EVERYONE ELSE GETS UNDER BLANKETS SLEEPING BAGS (NOT THEIR OWN THOUGH) AND CALLS THE TAPPER BACK IN. THE TAPPER TURNS THE LIGHTS OFF WHEN SHE COMES IN AND TAPS A SLEEPING BAG. THE PERSON IN THE SLEEPING BAG HAS GTGO SAYS SOMETHING TO THE TAPPER IN A REALLY STRANGE VOICE AND THE TAPPER HAS TO GUESS WHO IT IS.
    PASS THE PARCEL IS EASY ENOUGH.
    TOILET PAPER SHARE
    THIS GAME IS NOT WHAT IT SOUNDS. YOU NEED A ROLL OF TOILET PAPER FOR THIS GAME. YOU SIT IN A CIRCLE AND PASS AROUND THE TOILET PAPER AND TELL EVERYONE TO TASKE AS MANY SQUARES AS THEY THINK THEY’LL NEED FOR THE GAME. DON’T GIVE THEM ANY FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS. NOW GO IN A CIRCLE AND TELL AS MANY THINGS ABOUT YOU FOR AS MANY SQUARES YOU HAVE. IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE ANYTHING PERSONAL, IT COULD JUST BE, I’M A CHOCOHOLIC OR I’M WEARING A GREEN DRESS TODAY.
    PRESENT GAME
    FOR THIS GAME YOU WILL NEED ABOUT 15 (OR DOUBLE THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE COMING) CAREFULLY WRAPPED PRESENTS. YOU WILL ALSO NEED TWO FULL PACKS OF CARDS. YOU ALSO NEED AN ADULT FOR THIS GAME. EVERYONE SITS IN A CIRCLE WITH THE PRESENTS IN THE MIDDLE. THE ADULT KEEPS A PACK OF CARDS TO HIM/HERSELF AND HANDS OUT THE OTHER PACK TO EACH PERSON TIL ALL THE CARDS ARE GONE. THE ADULT READS A RANDOMLY PICKED CARD AND THE PERSON WITH THAT CARD GIVES THEIR CARD TO THE ADULT AND TAKES A PRESENT FROM THE MIDDLE. DO NOT WORRY; EVERYONE WILL HAVE AT LEAST 2 CARDS. THIS KEEPS GOING ON UNTIL ALL THE PRESENTS IN THE MIDDLE ARE GONE. THERE WILL STILL BE CARDS LEFT, SO YOU CARRY ON, BUT INSTEAD OF TALKING A PRESENT FROM THE MIDDLE, YOU CAN STEAL FROM OTHER PEOPLE. THIS GOES ON UNTIL ALL THE CARDS ARE GONE. IF SAY SOMEONE HAS 4 PRESENTS AND SOMEONE ELSE HAS NONE, THE PERSON WITH 4 MUST GIVE THE PERSON WITH NONE ONE OF HER PRESENTS TO BE FAIR.

    A really great game is Smuggles
    items Needed:
    -5 gums or how many ppl e coming 2 the sleepover
    -Wiped cream
    -5 plates or how many ppl r coming 2 the sleepover
    This is how u play:
    put each game on the plate then cover it up with wipped cream until u cant see the gum anymore. Then 1 person says 1,2,3 Smuggles then using no hands with ur mouth try 2 find the gum then when found u can pick it up wit ur hands and chew until ur able 2 make a bubble 1st person to make the bubble gets 2 make a nasty drink for the last person who makes a bubble like milk,syrup,eggs,hot sauce, whipped cream etc. better to be played on a table!!!!!

    Cant wait to try this game at my sleepover in a month my b-day is on june 23 i made this game up my self and i have a feeling it will be fun lol!! 3>

    ANOTHER GAME YOU CAN PLAY IS GIFT EXCHANGE. HOW YOU PLAY IS THIS…. FIRST YOU GET A GROUP OF PEOPLE AND TELL THEM TO ALL BRING PRESENTS.
    PUT THE GIFTS IN THE CENTER OF THE PLAYING AREA. NEXT ROLL A DICE TO SEE WHO GOES FIRST. THE FIRST PERSON GRAVES A GIFT OF THERE CHOICE (NOT KNOWING WHAT IT IS) THEY OPEN THE GIFT AND GET TO KEEP IT. THE NEXT PERSON DOES THE SAME ..BUT! INSTEAD OF PICKING A NEW PRESENT THEY CAN STEAL SOMEONE ELSES WHO HAS GONE IN THE PAST. *ONCE THE PRESENT HAS BEEN STOLEN 3 TIMES NO STEALING CAN HAPPEN* ONCE ALL PLAYERS HAVE GONE AND HAVE A PRESENT THEN THE GAME IS OVER AND IF THERE IS ANY EXTRA PRESENTS THEY CAN BE USED FOR WHATEVER YOUR HEART DESIRES.

    i have a fun games its sorda like tapper but diffrent this must be played with 3 or more people everyone lay out their sleeping bags one person is it. it leaves the room. everyone hides in sleeping bag(not their own). it comes back and sits on 1 sleeping bag. it must try to guess whom is inside the bag under 1 minute (after everone went a few times make it harder by making it guess who is in the bag in under 10 seconds. i play this game every sleepover fun fun fun

    OMG! It is 11:14 pm on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 right now. We are both on our laptops looking up facials, nail polish, decorations/room ideas, and we’re like really bored right now. She s my neighbor, i’m 15 and she’s 11. I just moved in 2 months ago and i sleep at her house and she sleeps at my house. School is about to start and we’re worried we might not be spending as much time together as we’d like. Thanks for the sleepover ideas, i’ve actually done a few of them years back and now we’re about to play the Two Truths and a Lie game. 🙂 FYI: This is our first time ever even being on this website and it was really helpful. 🙂

    Ok this is called ugly bubble u take a cracker and bubble gum to each girl they put both things in there mouth and chew the first one to blow a bubble wins!

    There is another one called sockem peppermints u take long knee high socks and put them on both arms, then u have two lines and a table a couple inches away and in the midlle. Then u say go and the girls run to the table with the socks and they run to the table and open the peppermints then whoevers line is done first wins!

    I played these gamez at a party and everyone loved them the crackers might taste a little nasty though so dnt play it with people with weak stomachs!

    i play musical bags where you have to get into sleeping bags. wake the sleeping beutysome one has to set a stop watch then a girl pretends to be a sleep the others have to put silly makeupone her to get them to stop she has to say im awake then take a picture and she can take it home

    i played this game at a party once that you take the number of presents of the people who are coming(and the birthday kid if they dont want to be the volume controller) and then wrap each in multiple layers of wrapping paper leave one with a single layer but be sure you keep track of which one that is. Also get some form of being able to play music loud enough for everyone to hear it with volume controls that can be used to vary the music volume easily. ok… now how you play is have the guests and the birthday kid (if you planned one for the birthday kid otherwise they need to sit out but could control the music)… so have them sit in a circle, then have one kid start out with the present. start the music and the present gets passed like hot potato, vary the music so they dont know when it is going off, when the volume goes off, then the passing stops like hot potato and keep the music off while they get to unwrap one layer of the paper off the present. continue the music doing the same thing until all of the layers are off… then the person to unwrap the last layer gets the present and sits out of the circle. the same thing repeats again with all the presents, until all but one person gets a present then that person gets the present with the single layer. THE END —–> HAVE FUN!!!!

    these are awesome Ideas! My birthday is in a month and i’m freaking out I <3 to plan ahead and i'v came up with a few ideas
    HOT PACKEGE
    you get enough packeges for every kid and fill them up with gifts you wrap them in a few layers of paper. You play music and pass the packege around then you stop the music and who ever has it gets to unwrap it.
    WHAT AM I TOUGHING?
    you turn out the lights and put weared feeling stuff in a bowl you pass it around and every one has to guess what is in it some things you can put in are worms, pasta,ect…….
    this is going to be the best party ever!!! <3 2 party

    those are some great ideas i will use them for my new years sleepover party!
    i also like to do blind makeovers. you know its when you blind fold someone and they have to put makeup on the person across from them. truth or dare is the best. i printed out a lot of good ones of some website i found. if you want to print them out just google truth or dare questions and you should get somthing to pop up. have fun at your next sleepover!!!!!!!!!

    Well im having a sleepover on friday and i really think all the stuff i have planned ..is like super fun but to them they might think its super lame. i dont want them to think that but ..im going to let them know even though im 13 im still a kid and im not going to get older or mature until i hit 16 years old so for right now im still a kid ..and im going to let them know everything we are going to be doing. so if they dont wanna come they dont have to come.

    I know a really fun game where one person waits in a room with the lights off while the other people are in another room with the lights off and are hiding. The “it” person must the try and find all the people but if one of the hiders turns on the lights before they get caught, that person wins.

    I played those games with my friends. They loved it. They said they wouldn’t mind playing those games again. This is another game that we play all the time…

    Capture The Flag
    For this game you need 4 players and up. Make 2 teams (if you have more players make more teams) and get 2 colored pieces of paper for each team. Cut 1 up into 6 pieces, keep the other one whole. Each team must hide all 6 and hide the big piece in a good spor. On each card right a clue and a number (each clue should lead up to the big piece of paper). Once they are all hidden try to find the other team(s) flags. Once they are all hidden meet back in the place you started and yell 1st. The second person yells 2nd and so on. You can repeat this game as many times as you want!!! Hope you like it!!!:):)!!!

    Here is an awesome game.:
    It’s called 7 dice!
    Here’s how u play,
    U get however many prizes as there is people and before the party wrap all of them. When the guests get there have all of them sit in a circle. Then u get a 2 dice. Have all the presents in the middle. Then someone goes first and rolls both dice, if they get a 7, they get to pick a present but can’t unwrap it. Then they pass the dice to the next person until everyone has a present. Then u unwrap them. Then set a timer for 10 mins. and the first person rolls the dice, and if they get a 7, they could trade gifts with someone else! Keep going till 10 min is up!
    This game is awesome I played it at my party and everyone love it!! Hope u do too! Also go ahead and get a “gag gift”!
