The 5 Best Pajama Comfort Movies

pajamas, movies, comfort, the pajama company

Ever notice how some movies you watch and enjoy once, and then there are others you could watch a million times over? Whether it’s a movie that’s totally silly or touches our hearts – there are just some movies we can’t quite get enough of.

So pop the popcorn, grab your coziest blanket, and settle in for the long haul because here are five of our favorite “comfort” movies to watch over and over again!

Back to the Future

Who doesn’t love this classic movie in which Michael J. Fox goes back in time in his DeLorean time machine? (Hellloooo, McFly!) It’s a feel good movie and an all-time favorite rainy day go-to. There are actually two sequels, but the first one is really the best.

Emma

A delightful adaptation of the Jane Austin classic novel, set (of course) in the English countryside. Gwyneth Paltrow plays Emma, a self-appointed matchmaker who loves playing cupid for others, but fails to find a love interest of her own. A feel good movie with great cinematography that will draw you in again and again.

Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day

In this comedy, Frances McDormand plays the middle-aged governess, Guinevere Pettigrew, who finds herself unemployed and desperate for a job. She takes a job as the social secretary for a singer (Amy Adams) and finds her calling.  A cute movie with fun characters that you’ll want to watch over and over. And, the cool art deco style setting of the 1930’s is a bonus!

Toy Story

If you don’t know Toy Story, it’s a touching family movie about a boy named Andy and his toys, that’s well loved across generations. Action figure Buzz Lightyear and Woody the cowboy steal the show, in addition to Mr. Potato Head! What makes us watch this movie over and over? It’s a sweet story and even after many years, the animation is still really cool. And like Back to the Future, it’s a trilogy, so a perfect choice for a rainy Saturday movie marathon!

Wedding Crashers

Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson play two womanizing friends who regularly “crash” weddings to pick up girls. All is well and good until one of them actually falls for one of their conquests (played by Rachel McAdams). This movie is totally entertaining. There are so many funny lines which makes it one you have to watch again!

Getting to Know You Game Each person gets a sheet of questions to answer about themselves, and then shares their answers with the group. Add questions like “what’s something you are afraid of” or “what’s your most embarrassing moment?” or “do you believe in ghosts?” for extra fun and laughs!

Musical Manicures Sit in a circle and pass a bunch of different nail polish colors around. When the music stops, each girl paints a nail with the color she has. Continue until all 10 finger nails are polished for a rainbow effect.

Notting Hill

You’ve probably seen it more than once, but Notting Hill is one of those movies to watch again and again. A British romantic comedy about a bookseller (Hugh Grant) who falls in love with a famous American actress (Julia Roberts). Funny and sweet. (On Netflix)

You’ve Got Mail

Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan totally make this movie, which takes place back in the AOL days. We love Meg Ryan’s adorable pajama scenes, and of course, can’t beat the happy ending.

5 Treats for a Cozy Winter Weekend

winter weekend

Happy Friday, friends! Brrrrrr…it’s chilly out there! Don’t know about you, but the cold and windy weather certainly makes it harder to get outside. This weather makes us want to curl up and hibernate. Are you with us?

We’re guessing you are, so we’re sharing 5 of our favorite treats to enjoy on cozy winter weekends, for a little something extra special:

1. The Blizzard Cocktail

Yep, we’re starting off with the hard stuff. The Blizzard Cocktail is a combination of coffee, whiskey, and liqueurs (hello hazelnut and Irish cream) topped off with whipped cream. Does it get any better than that? Maybe this weekend it’s a Sunday Funday in PJs at your house? Click here for the recipe.

2. Gourmet Popcorn

Did you ever realize how many ways there are to make popcorn? Sweet, savory, candy coated or taco flavored, we have a round-up of 10 delicious gourmet popcorn recipes for you. Or, get creative and invent your own. But if you do, be sure to share the recipe with us!

3. Homemade Donuts

Why not make donuts at home and not even leave the house? The best part is you get to eat your donut straight out of the oven, still warm. Want some easy inspiration? Yummy!

4. Vanilla Chai Tea Latte

A nice piping hot cup of tea is so soothing when it’s cold and making it a vanilla chai is even better. Here’s a great recipe for a real chai latte with the spices and all. It’s a little extra effort to make from scratch, but so worth it.  Want more caffeine? Throw in a shot or two of espresso as they suggest for a “dirty chai”.

5. Hot Cocoa Cookies

Gotta have your chocolate fix? These chewy chocolate hot cocoa cookies (with a marshmallow inside!) will hit the spot for your weekend treat.

Add your flannels and fuzzy slippers, and you’re set for a cozy winter weekend!

7 Reasons to embrace cooler weather

1. Hot Chocolate – When the temps get chilly, it’s the perfect excuse to enjoy a decadent cup of hot chocolate.

2. Scarves! – Cooler weather means wrapping up in your favorite scarf before you head out.  We think stripes and plaids rule!

3. Reading by the fire – It’s that season again: Light a fire and get snuggly under the blankets with a good book and a latte.

4. Soups & Chili – Cheesy Chicken Enchilada Soup?  Hearty beef chili?  Nothing goes better with a cool day and PJs…

5. Be a couch potato – We love cooler weather because it’s even more of an excuse to relax on the couch in our jammies. Movie marathon? Pizza delivery? Netflix binge-watch? Mac and cheese and popcorn? Bring it on!

6. Cozy Sweaters – Time to break out our coziest sweaters.  And what the heck, shop for a few new ones. Need we say more?

7. Fall Hikes – Fall weather is perfect for getting bundled up, taking the family out, and exploring the trails. Then come back home and warm up with a hot toddy. #perfectday
