The Cycling Ladies

We’re loving these photos shared by one of our customers:

These eleven strong women, ages 35 to 61, mostly from Greenville, SC went on a “chick trip” to cycle the mountains of Southern France. These ‘cols’, as they are called in Europe, are the famous climbs that cycling pros climb in the Tour de France.  Go ladies!!!

Here they all are, having fun and getting cozy in their comfortable “Bicycle” pajamas after a day of riding and a shower…

How to make a yummy latte at home

We’re pretty serious about our coffee around here. Have you ever seen our “Coffee all Day” Pinterest page?

With the shift into fall and October, we’re declaring it officially latte season!

The cool thing is that you don’t need any fancy tools to make a yummy latte right at home. You can use your regular coffee maker and your microwave to whip one up.

And just think, with all the money you save not buying expensive coffee house drinks, you can splurge on a new pair of PJs or two, right?!

Here’s how to make a delicious home made latte:

1. Brew the Coffee.

If you have an espresso machine or pot, by all means use it. If not, brew some strong coffee with your basic drip coffee maker.

2. Froth & Steam the Milk.

Take a mason jar and fill it halfway with milk. Put the top on and shake vigorously for about a minute. The idea is to create more volume to the milk. Take the cover off the jar and heat in the microwave for 30 seconds.

3. Make your latte!

Pour the warm milk into your favorite mug, as much as you like. If you want to add a flavor syrup – pumpkin spice, vanilla – add it now to your milk and stir gently. Last, add the espresso or strong coffee.

And there you have it, an at-home latte. Drink & enjoy!

Fall Pajama Days: Watch, Read, Eat

If you like to get cozy, this is your season, friends. We are loving the cooler air, the change in the light, and the perfect reason to put on our PJs, get cozy, and call it a Pajama Day!

What we’re watching…

Narcos on Netflix – Surprisingly addicting, Narcos tells the story of Pablo Escobar and the 1990s Colombian cocaine wars. May not sound all that inticing at first, but it’s really a fascinating story. But, be ready for violence.  Check out the trailer here.

Frasier – Sure, you’ve already seen all of the episodes of this Cheers spin-off, but so fun to watch over and over again. Who can resist Eddie, the Jack Russell?!  A Badanes family binge-watch favorite! Stream on Amazon or just go ahead and buy the complete set.

Super Soul Sunday – As Oprah says, this inspirational show is “food for the soul”.  Oprah explores happiness, spirituality, and better living with various thought leaders and authors.  Watch on OWN or stream from Oprah.com.

We’re also looking forward to Homeland (10/4), Nashville (9/23), and a new season of House of Cards (late winter)!

What we’re reading…

Room by Emma Donoghue – Told from the perspective of 5 year old Jack, a boy who is held captive in an 11 x 11 room with his mom. Disturbing but thought-provoking.  And, soon to be turned into a movie.

The Dalai Lama’s Cat – A delightful view into Buddhism and the Dalai Lama…as seen by Snow Lion the cat.

Need a new book to get into and want a bargain? Head on over to Modern Mrs. Darcy for daily Kindle deals. You never know what you’ll find each day!

What we’re drooling over…

Homemade Pizza – Ellie, our founder is obsessed with homemade goat cheese pizza these days! She’s also loving Fresh Garden Tomatoes.  Slice them with mozzarella and smothered the plate with olive oil…yummy! Add a warm baguette with more olive oil…pure heaven!

Chili – It’s chili time, and this recipe from Martha Stewart that includes bacon does not disappoint.  (Note, you may need to spice it up a little more than what’s called for!)

Tea – Tea and our flannels…need we say more?  Check out some favorite fall teas here.

How are YOU spending your PJ time these days? Share with us in the comments below!

9 signs it’s time for new pajamas

1. Your spouse mistook them for a rag and accidentally washed his car with them.

2. Each time you put them on, your dog howls for no apparent reason.

3. In a pinch, they could easily stand in for a bag lady Halloween costume.

4. Curiously, your room mate always seems to be asking you “when’s the flood?” when you’re wearing them.

5.  They were a gift from your ex and let’s just say, it was a baaaaad break up.

6. You’ve stopped washing them for fear that they’ll disappear in the washing machine.

7. You’d absolutely DIE if someone actually saw you in them, and that includes the UPS man!

8. They are considered holey…and it’s got nothing to do with religion.

9. And, the most important one…you just plain old want to treat yourself to a new pair of pajamas!

Do any of these describe you?

If so, you’re in luck: we just received a whole bunch of fun new pajama styles including flannel for fall!  And, our entire sale collection is an additional 25% off now thru Sunday, Sept. 13th.  Use COZYSEPTEMBER at checkout.
