10 best Valentine’s Day gifts to warm their hearts

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and if you’re looking for a gift that’s a bit more unique than the usual chocolates and flowers, you’re in luck. Here are ten unique Valentine’s Day gift ideas that are sure to put a smile on your loved one’s face:

Pajamas. Who doesn’t love a cozy pair of pajamas? Whether it’s a luxurious pair of satin pajamas or a comfy set of flannel jammies, this gift is sure to be appreciated. Not only are pajamas a practical and comfortable gift, but they can also be a great way to show your loved one that you care about their comfort and well-being.

A personalized gift. There’s nothing quite like a gift that’s been personalized just for you. Whether it’s a custom piece of jewelry, a monogrammed bag, or a framed photo, a personalized gift is a thoughtful and unique way to show your love.

A cooking class or cooking-themed gift. For the foodie in your life, a cooking class or a cooking-themed gift might be the perfect choice. Consider signing them up for a class at a local cooking school, or get them a gift like a cookbook, kitchen gadget, or gourmet ingredients.

An experience gift. Instead of a physical gift, consider giving your loved one an experience to enjoy together. This could be tickets to a concert or show, a gift certificate for a couples massage, or even a weekend getaway.

A subscription box. Subscription boxes are a great gift for anyone who loves getting surprises in the mail. There are boxes for all sorts of interests, from coffee lovers to bookworms to pet lovers. Consider signing your loved one up for a subscription to a box that caters to their interests.

A custom piece of art. For a truly one-of-a-kind gift, consider commissioning a custom piece of art. This could be a painting, a sculpture, or even a piece of jewelry. Not only is this a unique and special gift, but it’s also a great way to support local artists.

A gift that gives back. If you and your loved one are socially conscious, consider giving a gift that gives back. There are plenty of companies that offer products that support causes like sustainability, fair trade, and charitable giving. Not only will your gift be appreciated, but it will also make a positive impact on the world.

The gift of relaxation. If your special someone is always on the go, a gift that helps them relax and unwind might be just what they need. Consider a gift like a massage, a spa day, or a cozy blanket, or robe.

Help them learn something new. For the lifelong learner in your life, a gift that helps them learn something new might be the perfect choice. Consider a gift like a cooking class, a language-learning program, or a membership to a museum or science center.

A gift that celebrates your love. Finally, don’t forget that Valentine’s Day is all about celebrating your love. A simple but heartfelt gift like a handwritten note, a living plant, or a homemade gift can be just as meaningful as a more elaborate present.

We hope these gift ideas have given you some inspiration for finding the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for your loved one. Remember, it’s the thought that counts! Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!

The Absolute Best Last-Minute Father’s Day Gift Idea

If Father’s Day snuck up on you (again), don’t panic! While you might not be able to snag a reservation at a steakhouse this late in the game, you can give dad a gift he’s guaranteed to love: the gift of relaxation. If dad works all day and picks up a second shift as Superdad all night — cooking dinner, helping with homework, wrangling kiddos at bathtime, or scaring away monsters under the bed — he’ll appreciate having the house to himself in his favorite pajama pants on Sunday.

Here’s The Pajama Company’s simple five step guide for planning the best “day off” for dad. No advanced reservations required!

How to Plan the Most Relaxing Father’s Day for Dad

1. Give the gift of comfort!

Let dad know your plans for Father’s Day the night before. Then surprise him with something comfortable to spend the day in. He’ll want to put his feet up, so consider a luxurious bathrobe, pajama pants, fun pajama set, or silly T-shirt — a thoughtful little present he can lounge in all day long.

2. Make a plan for the kids.

Have a late breakfast together, so dad can sleep in. The kids will be eager to give dad their gifts and he’ll get plenty of Father’s Day hugs before you depart for the day. Plan to spend the afternoon out. Take the kids to a playdate, the park, a movie, an arcade, to visit their grandparents… anything to keep them busy for the day so dad can have the house to himself on Father’s Day.

3. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner is served.

What’s Father’s Day without steak? Steak and eggs for breakfast sounds super fancy, but it’s a surprisingly quick and easy meal to make. Other easy breakfast ideas: Easy Steak & Egg Bake or this epic “breakfast hoagie” that can be made on a baguette to feed a family! Since you’ll be out for most of day, keep it simple and have all his favorite sandwich fixings ready to go in the fridge: cured meats, cheeses, quality bread, and all the toppings! For dinner, consider firing up the slow cooker or reheating a no-fuss pre-made dish like baked ziti, chili, or a frozen pizza.

A super T-shirt for Superdad! This fun shirt from LA Imprints makes a great Father’s Day gift. Only 8 left!

4. Everything within arm’s reach.

For an extra-thoughtful touch, set up his favorite spot on the couch so everything is within arm’s reach: his favorite drink, slippers, an assortment of snacks, books, magazines, newspaper, and the remote of course! Be sure to include a comfy pillow and a blanket as well. If you want to be cute, throw in an eye mask for that inevitable afternoon nap! He’ll appreciate that you remembered his faves and went the distance to ensure a day of complete relaxation.

5. Dinner and a movie.

When you return from your day out, simply reheat dinner and settle in with newly “zenned-out” dad. Continue the pampering and let him pick a movie for the family to watch or pick a game for a game night. If you opted not to give him a gift yet, this would be the perfect time to surprise him with matching family pajamas (the family that lounges together…). Whatever you choose to do on Sunday evening, spending a relaxing night with his favorite people beats a crowded steak house every time. What do I get my man on Valentine's Day?

Mission Impossible-to-Buy-For: Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas for Him

We’re just going to come out and say it: what the heck are you supposed to get your man on Valentine’s Day? While a passion for chocolate knows no gender, quite often the tasty treats men and women pine for are very different. So where can we get a heart-shaped box of Buffalo chicken wings?

When it comes to gift-giving, it’s the thought that counts and you do want to make him feel special — even if you know he secretly believes it’s a ‘Hallmark holiday.’ On this day fellas are often tasked with dinner reservations, plans, flowers, candlelight, romance… that’s a lot of pressure! Despite being the gender that is most inclined to stick with lifelong routines and habits, research has proven that men actually enjoy surprises more than women do.

Surprise your ‘creature of habit’ with one of these comfortable personalized gifts to remind him that you’re paying attention.

5 Personalized Valentine’s Day Gifts for Him

1. The Finer Things

For the man who has it all, you can’t go wrong with a tasteful pajama set. Pair the PJs with a fantastic bottle of whiskey and chocolate that compliments the spirit. For dark chocolate, opt for Red Breast Single Pot 12 Year (or Jameson, if he’s a superfan). For milk chocolate with nuts, George Dickel Superior #12 Whiskey is a truly great bottle for the price.

2. Sports Fan

The Super Bowl is just around the corner. Show your support with a sports fan gift basket: branded beer koozies, his favorite brew, a plethora of game day snacks, and an extra comfortable pair of pajama pants to enjoy the game in. You could also consider a gift card to his for his favorite gameday takeout so he can get those Buffalo chicken wings… The heart-shaped box is totally optional.

3. The Pretty Boy

For the man who loves to preen, you can’t go wrong with a soft, plush bathrobe and high-end grooming supplies. Sandalwood-scented luxe shaving cream, new high-end razors, an exfoliating body wash, moisturizer, and a great pomade will do the trick. Show him some extra love by not banging on the door when he’s in the bathroom all morning, trying his new products!

Valentine's Day Gifts for Him - Bookworm

To complete the package, add warm slippers, tea, and biscotti.

4. The Bookworm

Some fellas prefer a quiet evening with a good book. If you’re not sure what he likes, type a few titles from his bookshelf into Goodreads.com and the site will generate suggestions based on other users with similar tastes. To complete the package, add warm, cozy slippers, quality tea or coffee, and a box of delicious chocolate-dipped biscotti.

5. The Romantic

If your guy is a cheeseball, he’ll appreciate you going above-and-beyond for your special day. A pair of matching pajamas is sure to bring a smile to his face. Cook up a romantic feast or plan a quick, local weekend getaway by booking a cozy Airbnb in the countryside. Make it extra special by finding an affordable rental for a classic car on a site like Turo.

In truth, he’ll appreciate anything you do to show him that you care. While we don’t have to wait for a holiday to show our partners that we love them, it is nice to have an annual reminder that gives us the chance to reflect on how lucky we are. How to Host a Winter Pajama Party

How to Host a ‘Winter Wonderland’ Pajama Party

After we unplug the Christmas tree and pack away our holiday decorations, many people feel a touch of ‘post-holiday blues’ because there is nothing left to celebrate and a long winter ahead. Don’t feel sad! There is a lot to celebrate after the holidays!

For one, we aren’t faced with the daunting task of entertaining in-laws and houseguests for another weekend packed with holiday traditions and formalities. Those of us who travel aren’t faced with another weekend in an airport, dragging luggage and children from coast to coast to visit family. The magical, sparkly, snowy winter weather is still going strong, which means we have a lot to celebrate — right at home.

Without all the holiday obligations, we can gleefully spend the rest of the winter season in hibernation. Why not celebrate what’s left of the season with a laidback ‘Winter Wonderland’ pajama party? Since the kids will be on winter break until after the New Year, you can keep the party to just your family or invite another family to join in. It’s also a great excuse to use those matching family pajamas one more time…

What To Get The Dad Who Has Everything?

The same question plagues me most years around this time. What can I get my dad that will show him how much I appreciate him? Of course, there’s always the standard tie or cufflink. But after decades of birthdays and father’s days, he has plenty of those. This year, I have a new idea: themed gifts. Combining a unique gift that he will use with an experience he will love will make this Father’s Day extra special.

Lucky for you, I am going to share a few of my ideas.

  1. The Sunday Morning Special — Give dad a pair of these beautiful and classic Bedhead Men’s Pewter Stripe Fine Cotton Pajamas (you know he’ll love them, but would never buy them for himself) along with a subscription to his favorite magazine or newspaper (e-reader subscriptions are great too if your dad is a kindle or iPad user). He’ll be thanking you every Sunday all year long.
  2. Catch of the Day — Normally, the idea of getting up at sunrise makes you want to push deeper under your duvet. But you could do it once for dear old dad. Treat him to the pleasure of your company by planning a fishing trip for the two of you. Pair the experience with these cozy “Good Catch” Flannel Lounge Pants (they’re 30% off, too!) that he can wear and reminisce about your day out on the water.
  3. A little pampering — He might not admit it, but even dad can appreciate a little pampering now and then. Get him a gift certificate for a massage at a local spa and give him this cashmere-like chocolate brown robe so he can bring a little bit of that luxury home with him.
  4. Pizza Pizza — Sometimes, love is said best with food.Take him out to dinner at his favorite restaurant, or make him his favorite meal at home. And give him this “Sorry, I Was Thinking About Pizza!” shirt to let him know you really understand him.
  5. His Happy Hour — Celebrate your dad’s love of an old fashioned grill out with this fun “Happy Hour” mug and t-shirt from Life is good. Pair it with a membership to the barbecue sauce or beer of the month club to make this gift complete.

Still in need of more gift ideas? Check out our Just for Dad category for many more pajamas, shirts and accessories that dad will love. Remember Father’s Day is June 17. The Pajama Company ships orders the same day. To guarantee delivery by Friday, June 15, choose ground shipping through June 8, third day through June 12, second day through June 14 and overnight through June 14.
